Southside / 1199 Negotiation Update – 11/20/2019

Southside Hospital is committed to keeping you informed as we continue to negotiate a new collective bargaining agreement for our nurse practitioners with 1199SEIU (1199).

On Monday, we met with 1199 for our third bargaining session and spent most of the day providing clarification to each other on our respective contract proposals. Importantly, the tone has continued to be both respectful and constructive.

Through productive dialog, we reached several tentative agreements and expect to reach additional agreements the next time we meet on Dec. 20. Although negotiations can sometimes be long process – particularly when working toward a first contract – we’re confident that we will ultimately reach a fair and fiscally-responsible agreement that recognizes the unique professional role NPs play in delivering patient care at Southside.
